What Happened to Design Circus? Steve and Pat Dawson Kocsis founded Design Circus in 1982 as a “do-it-yourself” framing shop. In 2003 they relocated to the present gallery in the Miramar Center. Reflecting the changes over the years, they are now doing business as “Dawson Gallery”. Stop by and see the wide range of art, frames and mirrors. Steve and Pat’s framing work has been recognized for excellence in several national publications. New Staff... Steve and Pat have been joined in the gallery by their daughter Jennifer Phillips and her husband Chuck. After many years in the corporate world of computers and security, Chuck and Jennifer have settled down in Jacksonville to join the family business. Jennifer worked at Design Circus with her parents since its opening prior to her marriage and is a Certified Picture Framer. Chuck led graduate level training in computer security and taught classes around the world. Jennifer often traveled with Chuck to assist with the computer training laboratory exercises. Jennifer and Chuck have toured most of the US and Canada in their RV and share the space with a very irascible Hahn’s Macaw parrot named, of course, Han Solo.
